Lord Shiva Vishnu Temple, Australia

The Shri Shiva Vishnu Temple is located in the suburb of Carrum Downs in the state of Victoria, Australia . This temple is the largest Hindu temple in Victoria. Worship at the temple is centered on Shiva and Vishnu, the presiding deities of two dominant streams in the Hindu ritualistic tradition. The temple, built and designed in South Indian - Dravidian architecture, attempts to bring the two streams together and provide a synthesis. It has also earned a place amongst the renowned Hindu temples across the globe. The temple is housed with close to 32 Gods and Goddesses from several Hindu traditions. However, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are the main deities worshipped here. Many believe that this timeless architectural marvel of Hindu shrine will serve as an emblem of contribution from Hindu community to the multicultural society.
The temple is often used by the committee members and Hindu devotees for marriage celebrations. The temple also houses a Café which is open between Thursday to Monday.
